Amjaad Engineering and Contracting succeeded in completing the construction work of the shrimp farm project in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, Mr. Mohamed Bin Sulaiman AL-Yahmadi, the group business development director said.
The agreement of the construction work has been signed with Amjaad Group, to establish a shrimp farm in Khwaima village in the Wilayat of Jalan Bani Buali with a production capacity of 3400 tons annually to produce Indian white shrimp, which is the most requested one in the world with a very high demand.”
“The project aims to exploit the geographical location of the Sultanate, which overlooks the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, and to enhance the added value of raw materials and contribute to achieving food security for the country and creating job opportunities for Omani youth,”.
Mr. Al Yahmadi added that the shrimp farm in Al-Khawaimah contains a hatchery unit, 48 primary nursery ponds, 126 external grow-out ponds, a main feeding canal with a length of 1,500 meters, a main suction canal, an ice factory with a production of up to 25 tons per day, a water desalination plant with a capacity of 150 cubic meters per day, and maintenance workshops.
In addition to the Pre-treatment and packaging facilities, administrative offices, warehouses, laboratory, maintenance workshops and staff accommodation. We are proud to complete such unique project in food industry which required an intensive engineering solutions and high technical experience. It was a wonderful 18 months project duration with an area of 200 hectares!!.
